What I am leaning about ? Reciprocal Reading.
So what I have learned is that reciprocal reading involves students being the leaders.
Everyone is expected to contribute
Now what areas I want to get better at are questioning and summarising.

Keeping Our Safe

What I am leaning to make safe decisions.
So what I am learning this because then I know how to be safe
Now what A example of a safe decision is if someone came up to me and said to me can you try help find my dog, I would say NO and not go with him or her.

Multicultural Week

What
I learned about about different cultural and countries .

So What
I learned about Russia and that they don't have earthquakes .

Poetry

WALT write a poem with a twist

I learned that some poem are shorter.

I achieved my goal because I knew what a plumber needed.

Next time I will make a better twist at the end.

I learned to take off on one foot in long jump.

WALT: introduce ourselves in Maori. I learned to pronounce words correctly. My best sentence is Ko Nicky toku mama. I achieved my goal because I repeated it in my head. Next time I will learn it off by heart.

ANZAC Writing

 WALT use specific vocabulary to write a diary entry

I have learned it's easier to use interesting vocabulary from a brainstorm than from our heads.

Here are my best sentences: 
Me and Duffy made 15 trips today with artillery, machine guns and rifles booming. After a rest at an Indian artillery unit we made our  way back to the trenches.When I got back and ate some food  and played cards.

I achieved my goal because we read books about war to help with our writing.
Next time I will make my sentences more interesting.

Cross Country

WALT run 1.5 km for Cross Country.
I learned that it is hard to run 1.5 km in the sun.
In the cross country I placed 11th.
I achieved my goal because the run to Australia helped me train.
Next time I will try to come in the top 3.

compost - topic

WALT: recognise and understand the process used to construct a compost

We can do this when:

• we participate in discussions about compost
• explain how compost is constructed
• explain why we use compost and its benefits

We were very lucky that Mr McCaven showed us the grass clippings that will eventually turn into compost. We learned that the grass clippings will get warm and decompose and then they will help the school gardens grow.

Music

WALT - sing the new school song.

Success criteria: Sing using the correct words and attempt to use the correct pitch.

Room 2 sang this beautifully, they used the correct volume and some of them hit some good notes whilst singing.  Keep on practicing room 2 and we could even get some of the moves into the song.-- 

Translation

Success criteria:

Matthew chatterpics - Poetic writing

WALT : write a poem using rhyming words and share it in a creative way.

Success Criteria :

• Rhyming words
• Rhythm (what does it sound like when you say it?)
• Detailed sentences (add interesting words)
• Quality illustration (A4 with jovis)
• Clear speaking voice using Chatterpics (practise at least 4 times before you record)

Library session

WALT: read a book for enjoyment.

What that looks like:  

           We are sitting quietly in a spot reading a book and showing respect to everyone else reading.

Art mural

WALT: plan and create an art mural that represents us as New Zealander and members of Oaklands School.

Success criteria:

• Plan a sketch drawing of a image relating to the topic.
• Work with others in a sensible manner and by sharing roles.
• Prime the wooden board for the final product to go on. 
• Plan the colours of paint to use that fits with the image.
• Draw the image on a wooden board and paint the image using colours.
